MY TIME MASTER "SHAMS"
SALA'M(Peace!) children. Above is a picture(Miniature art work by master Hosain Behzaad) scanned from the book "The Third Script" a life work of Dr. Saheb-Zama'ni on and about Shams-e-Tabriz. Shams(as he is best known) was Rumi's guru/teacher. All the works of Rumi which are now so in demand and style in the west, were created after Rumi met shams some 800 or so years ago! There would be no Masnavi of Rumi were it not for Shams coming into his life.
I am in the process of translating a selection of the book "The Third Script" and God willing have it published within the year. Shams never wrote anything, in fact he was hard to keep up with, as his presence was never known to most unaware souls. He could simply disappear in a flash. In most cases he would intentionally stay incognito, work as a common laborer and yet dress as a rich merchant. His comings and goings were only more apparent and obvious after meeting up with Rumi in Qunieh, Turkey. Rumi at the time was considered the most learned "shaikh" of Qunieh and had many followers. Keep these in mind as you wait for the book my beautiful children. I leave you with a quote from the book and the reason for its name(this is Shams speaking):
" That scribe wrote in three scripts. One only he would read and none other. The second type he wrote, both himself and all others would read. A "third script" he wrote which, neither he, nor any other would read. I am that third script!"
ONLY GOD ALWAYS GOD ALL GOD ALONE GOD ONLY
